Key Ingredient

I find it helpful to try to think of at least 10 new things each day for which I am thankful. “I will praise you seven times a day.”

Psalms 119:164.

I find it very helpful to record in a little notebook the things for which I am thankful. Even during difficult times in my life it made me feel better to write down and thank God for the good things that He was doing in my life.

They do not have to be big things. We should give thanks for everything that is good that happens to us.

I try to look for the small things that God gives us and thank Him for them. Things like warmth, food, safety, and health. They really are not small when we consider what our life will be like if we do not have them.

Just take a car accident for example. We could be badly hurt or killed and have to deal with car repairs and insurance, lost work time, etc.

God protects us from many disasters we do not even know about. Satan is trying desperately to kill us.

“The thief’s (Satan’s) purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy.” John 10:10.

“My (God's) purpose is to give life in all its fullness.”

John 10:10.

“The Lord’s love never ends; His mercies never stop. They are new every morning....” Lamentations 3:22,23.

Praising God

“No matter what happens, always be thankful...”

I Thessalonians 5:18.

“Always give thanks for everything to our God.” Ephesians 5:20.

“But true praise is a worthy sacrifice...” Psalms 50:23.

“But whatever is  good and perfect comes to us from God.”

James 1:17
